If you have ever visited a Scandinavian household in December, it’s very likely you’ve come across a stuffed, gnome-like figure with a woolly beard and a conical cap cheerfully perched upon the fireplace or on the dining-room table. Most have a hat that has fallen over the eyes – most annoying. This little is guy is Sven. He is a tomte. Cousins from Finland are called tontte and nisse are from Norway. I have loved these little characters since I was a very young child. In 2017, I started drawing and imagining what tomte life was all about. Many of my childhood stories started to come back and I decided to start sharing my stories of the Tomtes.

You can purchase the books in the Tomte Store. Every few months I publish a newsletter called the Tomte Times about the lives of my tomte friends and their cousins The Tomte Times will also give you update about books, projects and Tomte events.
